Mendocino Coast at a Glance
California’s Mendocino Coast is noted for its stunning ocean views, rugged coastline
and charming Victorian villages. This region is a recreational paradise since
it boasts a number of state parks and beaches. Camping, hiking, kayaking and whale
watching are only a taste of the many adventures that are enjoyed in the area.

State Park is an excellent destination for these recreational pursuits. The
town of Fort Bragg is the regional
center and is best known for the Skunk
Train that takes visitors through forests of redwood trees. Visitors are also
fond of exploring Mendocino’s wine country, where winery tours and tastings are
offered year round. The coastal village of Mendocino
is located 10 miles south of Fort Bragg and offers romantic lodging, historic
buildings and upscale restaurants. The village of Elk
is a fine destination for a romantic getaway, offering oceanfront bed and breakfasts,
inns and cottages.
